Job Description

Important HSE Hospital in the South West of Ireland requires a Consultant doctor in Haematology (clinical&laboratory) for at least 12 months.

This is very good opportunity to work alongside another highly qualifed haematologist.
This hospital needs to expand the service and this is why they are looking for a second haematologist to join the department.

The departent is organised in the following way:
•    4 clinics per week in:
 
Malignant Haematology
General Haematology
General Haematology
General Haematology
 
•    Fridays: anticancer medical clinics
 
•    Inpatient Consultation
 
•    Desktop Triage: review the patient referred by other hospitals or GPs and give them a plan based on the blood results and the Clinical history. 80% of these patients are rejected to attend the hospital with an outpatient appointment so the Consultant can concentrate in the URGENT and DIFICULT cases. It is important to use this kind of system to reduce the long waiting lists in the hospital.
 
LAB MANAGEMENT:
 
•    Reporting Peripheral Bloods
•    Lab Management
•    Blood Bank administration: Blood products for the patients.
•    They don’t do Bone Marrows in this hospital.

Patients would go to the referral centre to receive chemoetherapy treatment.
 
Benefits:
 
•    Initial contract for 12 months with a view for extension.
•    Approximate net monthly salary of 9500-12000€ net/month (new POCC 2023) after tax and pension deductions for Consultant positions depending on experience. Could have the possibility to earn more money through private patients. 
•    31 working days per Year holidays for Consultants+ public holidays (there is 10 in a year).
•    Up to €12,000 for educational funding for Consultants (master degrees, etc)
•    Up to €8,000 per annum will be made available for support for innovation projects.
•    Lucrative pension scheme included.
 
 
Requirements and Qualifications:
 
1.    Should be a Specialist in haematology inside the European Union. Will need to get registered with the Irish Medical Council on the Specialist Registrar but we can help you with that if not yet registered. Please take into account that the process can take up to 3-4 months in total.
2.      Have a very good command of written and spoken English.
3.      Good motivation to go to Ireland to work as a doctor asap.
       4.   Good command of Clinical and Laboratory Haematology.

       5.    At least 1 year experience post CCST working as a consultant/specialist.
