Consultant for Pathological Anatomy, Clinical Diagnostic Department
A position as a consultant with a service at Pathological Anatomy, Southwest Jutland Hospital (SVS), is expected to be occupied by January 1, 2020 or when possible.
Southwest Jutland Hospital has around 400 beds and has a wide range of special departments. There are 22 clinical specialties and six diagnostic specialties in the hospital. The hospital has departments in Esbjerg and Grindsted.
Pathological anatomy is organizationally located at the Clinical Diagnostic Department (KDA) in Esbjerg. The Clinical Diagnostic Department contains Clinical Biochemistry and Clinical Immunology, Pathological Anatomy, Clinical Microbiology and an Infection Hygiene Unit. The Department is continuously updated with the latest technology. There is a well-functioning immunohistochemical laboratory and a well-functioning molecular biology laboratory. The Department serves the hospital and primary sector in our part of the region. Southwest Jutland Hospital in Esbjerg has status of emergency hospital in the region.
The population is around 225,000. Annual production of approx. 25,000 histological and 24,000 cytological samples as well as 10 autopsies. The subject Pathological Anatomy participates in interdisciplinary diagnostics of patients at Esbjerg and Grindsted as well as patients from general practice. We investigate surgery, biopsies and fine needle aspirates, including gynecology, mamma, skin, gastrointestinal including intestinal cancer, urology, rheuma, ear-nose-throat and jaws.
The consultants all participate in the basic functions, but also have individual interests and responsibilities.
Applicants with extensive experience in pathological anatomy and cytology are requested. Applicants should indicate their special area of interest we will take this into account as far as possible.

Salary and employment are in accordance with the agreement entered between the Danish Regions and the Association of Specialists. The position is Without Guards.
