MediCarrera offers positions for specialists in Pediatric Ophthalmology at Ryhov County Hospital, located in the Jönköping region of southern Sweden.

The Ophthalmology Clinic at Ryhov provides high-quality eye care in both emergency and specialized settings, with a strong emphasis on patient focus, continuous improvement, and teamwork. The clinic is expanding and expects to increase activity by 10–15% in the coming years.

You will join a collaborative and well-equipped clinic with operating theaters for both minor and major surgeries, and the opportunity to work closely with multidisciplinary teams. Pediatric ophthalmology is a key focus of this role.

 
Main responsibilities and requirements:
We are looking for specialists in:

• Pediatric ophthalmology (experience in strabismus surgery is a strong advantage)

Your responsibilities include:

• Diagnosis and treatment of pediatric eye conditions.
• Participation in pediatric and strabismus care teams.
• Cross-disciplinary collaboration with pediatrics, habilitation, neurology, and radiology.
• Optional involvement in surgery, research, and quality development initiatives.
• Teaching and mentoring may also be included.
   

Requirements:

• EU medical degree and specialist qualification in Ophthalmology.
• Clinical experience in pediatric ophthalmology.
• Interest or experience in strabismus surgery.
• Strong interpersonal skills, responsibility, and quality-oriented mindset.
• Driving license.
   

Salary and conditions:

• Specialist physician: 5,650–6,780 EUR/month
• Consultant physician: 6,520–8,690 EUR/month
• Individual salary setting based on experience and qualifications.
• On-call duty may apply (daytime, evenings/weekends only).
