Providing a comprehensive Cellular Pathology Service, together with consultant colleagues, sharing with consultant colleagues the NHS diagnostic work. The configuration of responsibilities will be reviewed from time to time and the appointees will be expected to work with consultant colleagues to provide a reliable and expeditious service. The persons appointed should expect from time to time to fit in with alterations in circumstances, such as changes in Consultant staffing, introduction of new services, expansion or reduction of existing services.
Developing special interests and attending the relevant multidisciplinary team meetings. Expertise or a willingness to develop an expertise in breast pathology is required for at least one post. An interest in skin and uropathology is also desirable.
Participating in audit programmes within the department and in multidisciplinary clinical audit.
Providing cross cover for other Consultants’ leave in the department.
