Job Description

Our client is the local municipality, responsible for managing a Maison Médicale created in 2024, located in a village with around 750 inhabitants, serving a population of around 2,000 users.

At present, the Maison Médicale has a speech therapist and two offices available for family doctors.  About 150 metres from the Maison Médicale is another medical building with a nursing, physiotherapy and osteopathy office. There is a nursing home near both locations. On the first floor of the new Maison Médicale, there is accommodation of about 100 m2 available. The support hospital is about 20 minutes away. 

As it is located in a rural revitalisation area, doctors who start working here are entitled to a range of benefits.

The town is located 1 hour from Toulouse (which has an airport with regular international flights to Portugal and Spain), and 2 hours from the spanish border. The town is salso 30 minutes away from larger villages with 10,000 inhabitants and 23,000 inhabitants. 

The town has schools, small shops (bakery, pastry shop, butcher, mini market, restaurant), a leisure centre and sports facilities. 

Type of contract offered: 

Private practice in own cabinet. Permanent contract.

All private practice in France is covered by the social security system.

Location: Occitanie region

Organisation and activity: To meet the needs of the population, particularly the patients of the only doctor in the locality, our client is looking to recruit two doctors specialising in general and family medicine. The professionals can take up positions in the new Maison Médicale, opening in 2024, or join the nurses and physiotherapist in a nearby building. The Town Council is very flexible and can easily adapt to the needs of the professionals to be recruited. 

Activity: 

Typical GP activity (diverse population – children, working adults, elderly people), chronic and acute conditions.

Open consultation appointments: 1 weekend per month + 1 evening

Conditions:

Strong potential for activity – €150,000 to €230,000 gross/year. There are currently 2,000 users without a family doctor.
Significant assistance with setting up, as it is a rural revitalisation area
- Total exemption from income tax for the first 5 years of activity and partial exemption for the following 3 years (in the 6th year, 25% of net income is subject to income tax, in the 7th year 50% and in the 8th year 75%) 
- Subsidy of €50,000 for working 4 days/week (50% paid when starting work and 50% 1 year later) if you set up by the end of 2025. After January 2026, subsidy of €10,000
- Free accommodation for the first 6 months (after 6 months, you can stay in the accommodation provided with a rent of €600)
Consulting room rental: €280/month (exempt from payment for the first 6 months) - administrative secretarial services provided by the City Council free of charge for the first 6 months of activity.
FREE French language training – level A1/B2 with online classes
FREE assistance with the registration process with the French Medical Association.

Application requirements: 

Doctor with a degree in Medicine and specialisation in General Practice completed in the EU.

Solid knowledge of French (already acquired or currently learning) or willingness to learn the language.

Seriousness and commitment to the process.
