Medicarrera is seeking two Specialists in Clinical Pathology/Cytology for an innovative hospital in central Sweden. About the Clinic
The hospital is an accredited organization that is part of the Laboratory Medicine department, operating regionally. The Clinical Pathology and Cytology Unit is responsible for analyzing tissue and cell samples using both microscopy and digital methods, providing treating physicians with essential information to guide patient care decisions. This unit also manages and schedules gynecological cytology screenings in the region and oversees autopsy and mortuary services.

You will work in a modern histopathology laboratory that is a leader in digital diagnostics. Our primary aim is to enhance patient safety by reducing waiting times and improving the accuracy of tissue analysis. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to help advance digital diagnostics in both pathology and cytology. The unit is at the forefront of using automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence, and we are actively preparing for both immediate and future advancements in the field.

The collaborative environment includes a multidisciplinary team that promotes continuous professional development and improvement in patient care.

Requirements:

  • Medical titles and specialties issued or recognized by the European Union or residents in recent years.
  • Ability to complete an intensive Swedish language course, which is part of the MediCarrera program.
  • A B2 level of Swedish proficiency is required to start employment, with support provided to reach C1 level.


Main Responsibilities

  • Supervise residents and perform routine medical duties within the unit.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to continuously improve services and meet client needs.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of digital pathology in a modern, development-focused environment.
  • Maintain a calm, collegial, and cooperative approach in daily work.

Salary and Conditions

  • On-call shifts involve being present from 08:00 to 17:00 to handle rapid responses throughout the day. This duty is rotated among specialists and senior physicians in the unit.
  • A B2 level of Swedish proficiency is required to start employment, with an introduction provided until the completion of the C1 course.
  • The salary for a new specialist with no experience is 70,000 SEK / month (approximately 6,152 euros) gross.
  • The average salary for specialist doctors in Sweden ranges between 80,000 and 110,000 SEK / month (7,000 - 9,600 €) gross, with duties paid separately.
    The salary will be set individually according to the specialist's years of experience.
