Job Description

A leading teaching hospital in the west of Ireland is seeking a Gastroenterology Specialist or Consultant for a minimum period of 6 to 12 months, with the possibility of extension, and a short-term opportunity for a permanent position (one or two years).
The hospital plays a leading role in acute care, providing regional services across a wide range of specialties. It is also a designated supra-regional center for oncology and cardiac services, serving a catchment area of ​​approximately one million people across the west of Ireland, from Donegal to North Tipperary.

The hospital is a Model 4 hospital offering 24/7 acute surgery, acute medicine, and intensive care.
The hospital is recognized for its Advanced Medical Training in all specialties.

Benefits:
• Initial contract of 6 to 12 months. Possible extension. • Approximate net monthly salary of €9,500-€12,500 after taxes and pension deductions for Consultant positions (gross base salary ranges from €235,000 to €283,000). Consultants with extensive experience in Ireland typically earn over €13,000 net per month (approximately €322,000 gross per year including on-call shifts).

• 30 working days of vacation per year for Consultants, plus public holidays (10 per year).

• 7 days of study leave per year for Consultants to attend conferences or continuing education.

• Up to €12,000 in study grants for Consultants and €8,000 for innovation projects.

• Attractive pension plan of at least €1,000 per month.

Requirements and Qualifications:

1. Must be registered with the Irish Medical College of Gastroenterology. If not, we will assist all eligible candidates with registration with the Irish Medical College of Gastroenterology if they have completed their Gastroenterology training within the European Union. Please note that the process may take 3 to 4 months in total.

2. Excellent written and spoken English.

3. Strong motivation to relocate to Ireland to work as a physician as soon as possible.

4. At least 5-6 years of experience in Gastroenterology is required (including years of training).

5. Experience in General Internal Medicine (outside of Gastroenterology) is ESSENTIAL for this position.
