Typically, the team consists of:
• 2 to 6 consulting psychiatrists
• 1 resident physician
• 1 nurse
• 1 occupational therapist
• 1 psychologist
• 1 social worker
• 0.4 administrative staff
- You will be part of the consultant team and will be one of the key members of the department. Therefore, you will hold a leadership position and operate with complete autonomy. You will be in charge of resident physicians and attending physicians. You will oversee all decisions made by your team and report to the hospital's clinical director.

- Salary up to €286,151 ( effective 1st of June 2026) + €40,000 for on-call shifts (compensation will vary depending on your experience).

- Bologna Health Jobs will assist physicians with various aspects of the selection and onboarding process at client hospitals, including CV review to tailor it to vacancies and assistance with registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC). They will also provide advice and recommendations for hospital interviews, help with the recognition of your experience in Ireland if you are coming from abroad, assistance with relocation procedures, tax advice, career planning in Ireland, and more.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience (after obtaining your medical degree) practicing medicine, of which at least 5 must be dedicated to psychiatry (including residency) + experience in one of the following subspecialties: Adult Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, and ADHD…
- Very high level of English (at least B2-C1).
- Registration with the IMC (Medical College of Ireland) as a specialist in psychiatry or any other subspecialty within psychiatry. We will assist all candidates with this process if they are not already registered. We are one of the few agencies that reviews all documentation for this purpose.
All unregistered candidates must be qualified as specialist psychiatrists in the European Union (applications that do not meet this requirement will not be considered) or, alternatively, hold a specialist qualification recognized in an EU Member State and have practiced the profession for 3 years from the date of recognition if they are from outside the EU.
