Bologna Health Jobs is seeking a Consultant in Vascular Surgery for one of the most important hospitals in the Galway area.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate patients in outpatient clinics.
Perform major vascular surgery.
Perform endovascular procedures (angioplasties, stents).
Manage vascular emergencies.
Determine medical or surgical treatment plans.
Team Leadership: The successful candidate will be the lead clinician and will report directly to the Clinical Director.
Supervision of Registrars, SHOs, and Interns.
Final clinical decision-making authority.
Participation in Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings.
Training and mentoring of junior doctors.
The role requires acting with full autonomy.

The candidate will join the Consultant team as a key member of the department. This is a leadership position requiring full clinical autonomy. Responsibilities include supervising residents and registered medical practitioners, overseeing all clinical decisions within the team, and reporting to the Hospital’s Clinical Director.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary: The gross base salary ranges from 235K to €283K per year, plus €40,000 for on-call duties, with a total earning potential of up to €322,000 gross per annum.
Annual Leave: 30 days of annual leave + 10 additional vacation days.
An annual grant of €8,000 for innovation projects.

Up to €12,000 available for training financing.

Requirements:

 A minimum of 5 years of experience in the medical profession, of which at least 5 years must be in Vascular Surgery (including residency).

 Very high level of English (B2-C1).

Enrollment in the Specialist Register for Vascular Surgery with the IMC (Irish Medical Council). We will assist all candidates with this process if they are not yet registered. We are one of the few agencies that review all your documentation to guarantee it, both for IMC registration and for the necessary management to start working in a hospital. We will help candidates in various aspects, such as creating a solid CV, interview preparation, and the recognition of their experience to ensure they are assigned the appropriate salary level.

All non-registered candidates must be qualified as Vascular Surgery Specialists within the European Union (CVs without this requirement will not be considered) or, alternatively, must possess a specialist qualification recognized in a EU member state and have practiced for 3 years from the date of recognition if they are from outside the EU.
