ABOUT THE REGION

The healthcare system in Värmland strives to enhance public health and improve the quality of life for its 290,000 residents. A network of health centers are available throughout the region, and three emergency hospitals are located in Arvika, Karlstad, and Torsby. With a focus on knowledge-based and personalized care, the healthcare services are designed to be appropriate, efficient, and equitable, meeting the specific needs of each individual patient. Care is conveniently provided close to the patient, on their terms.

Värmland, located in west-central Sweden, offers a beautiful natural landscape with forests, lakes, and rolling countryside for outdoor enthusiasts. The region is between Stockholm and Oslo, offering a peaceful and scenic environment while still being accessible to city life. Värmland has a rich cultural heritage, with traditional festivals such as the "Värmland Rune Singer Festival" taking place throughout the year, allowing residents to learn about and experience traditional Swedish culture.

Main responsibilities and expectations

The region is looking for family medicine specialist doctors for different workplaces in the city.  

What's expected of you

• To have medical and family medicine specialist titles issued or recognized by the European Union.
• To show interest in teamwork and be willing to contribute to the clinic's development.
• To be available for on-call duties.
• To possess a Type B driver's license.
• To be able to complete the intensive Swedish language course as part of the MediCarrera program.

• We find you a place to live and help to register your children in a school or kindergarten.

• We contact the moving company and arrange the moving trip.
• You receive an information package with practical details and a contact person to call in case of any problems. 

Salary and Conditions

• Employees receive a minimum of 25 days of paid leave (31 days if they turn 40 and 32 days if they turn 50), and are eligible for paid holidays from their first work day, exceeding the legal minimum.
• Employees have opportunities to learn and develop their skills while on the job.

• Salaries are based on individual circumstances. A minimum of 6800 euros grossly is offered to a Family Medicine doctor without prior experience.

Basic Requirements

*To be a specialist doctor/nurse/dentist with at least 2-3 years of experience and graduated from an EU university.

* To be an EU citizen or have an EU Long-term residence permit.

In case you are not an EU citizen:

* Your diploma has to be homologated in one of the EU countries.

* You need to have at least 2-3 years of experience in one of the EU countries after the title homologation.

* Long term residency from an EU country.
