ABOUT THE REGION
The county in southern central Sweden has a population of 360.000. About one quarter of the county population lives in the combined urban area around the southern point of its lake. The region is strategically located in southern Sweden and is easy accessible by plane, bus, train or car.
ABOUT THE HOSPITAL
There are 33 primary care centers in the Region. The population is relatively aged, and a big part comes from other cultures and ethnical backgrounds.
The organization is characterized by consideration and health care for all. They offer an accessible health care with continuity and high quality. After the patient has visited any of their primary care centres, they should leave with a sensation of being seen, listened to, treated professionally and knowing what the next step will be.
Main responsibilities
- You will meet patients in all aged with different diagnosis. As a GP you are the first to meet the patient and need to assess, together with other colleagues, what can be treated by you at the primary care center and what needs to be referred to a different specialist.
- Your duties are to take care of patients coming to the primary care center, elderly care, tutoring of students, resident doctors and other staff, health-oriented prevention work. You will work in team together with other colleagues at the primary care center and authorities when it comes to home-care, sick leave, unemployment, social services. etc.
What's expected of you
- At least 1 year of experience as a specialist doctor. You need to be flexible, social, empathic, driven and interested in tutoring others.
- During the first 3 months you will have introduction at Nässjö education centre 3 days a week, spend 1 day at your primary care centres and 1 day continuing to study Swedish and learn about the Swedish health care system and the Swedish culture in Jönköping.
- After one year at your primary care centre, you will have approximately 5 months of side service at different clinics at the hospital in order to get to know the inpatient care as well. It is estimated that the GP will be fully introduced to the work in Sweden after approximately 2 years and will then be able to take full responsibility at the primary care centre including tutoring residents.

Basic Requirements
*To be a specialist doctor/nurse/dentist with at least 2-3 years of experience and graduated from an EU university.
* To be an EU citizen or have an EU Long-term residence permit.
In case you are not an EU citizen:
* Your diploma has to be homologated in one of the EU countries.
* You need to have at least 2-3 years of experience in one of the EU countries after the title homologation.
* Long term residency from an EU country.
