ABOUT THE HOSPITAL

The primary care centre is the biggest health centre in the region with a large variety of patients. They work together to provide a safe and secure place with high quality to approximately 15,400 listed patients. It is a warm and pleasant workplace where everyone feels a great commitment to what they do. The workplace has an open development climate, and they invest in everyone being an employee, regardless of professional role or previous experience. Competence development is an important part of any job, so the opportunity for education is great. They work for a close collaboration between their professional groups to give the patient as good care as possible. Close to the health centre there is, among other things, a radiology clinic, district rehabilitation and a psychiatric outpatient ward. There are 65 employees and substitutes, specialists in family medicine, residents and doctor students, specialist nurses, assistant nurses, medical secretaries, psychologists and counsellors.

ABOUT THE CITY

It is a city with rich historical roots and a vibrant cultural scene. As of 2010, it had a population of approximately 10,934 inhabitants, emphasizing its small-town charm. One of the most notable aspects of the city is its connection to the famous Swedish author Astrid Lindgren, known for her beloved children's books. The city is her birthplace and was a significant influence on her writing.

Its history stretches back to the 14th century when it was granted its charter. A stroll down its main street offers a glimpse into its medieval past, as the street still retains its original layout. The city is also noted for its traditional wooden houses, adding to its historical ambience.

Main responsibilities and expectations

  • The position includes acute cases to preventive care and lifestyle issues. As a specialist in family medicine in the primary care, you work together with other health care professionals around the patient in, for example, nurse-led out-patient care. In addition to out-patient work, there is health care in the home and the opportunity to work with children's health care, nursing homes, general health work quality work. Work at call centres and standby duty are not included in the assignment. Supervision of residents and medical students are included in the work tasks.

  • To have good communication skills and a professional attitude.
  • To be socially competent and have an interest in and ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • To have medical and specialist titles issued or recognized by the European Union.
  • To show interest in teamwork and be willing to contribute to the clinic's development.
  • To be able to complete the intensive Swedish language course, which is part of the MediCarrera program.

Basic Requirements

*To be a specialist doctor/nurse/dentist with at least 2-3 years of experience and graduated from an EU university.

* To be an EU citizen or have an EU Long-term residence permit.

In case you are not an EU citizen:

* Your diploma has to be homologated in one of the EU countries.

* You need to have at least 2-3 years of experience in one of the EU countries after the title homologation.

* Long term residency from an EU country.
