ABOUT THE REGION

The county's capital is the fifth biggest city in Sweden, located 1 hour from Stockholm with a good connections by bus and train. It is a city that has developed a lot in recent decades. There are pleasant residential areas by the beach, an extensive range of outdoor activities, sports activities and cultural life, with good communication to Stockholm, Uppsala and surrounding cities.

ABOUT THE HOSPITAL

The medical clinic provides specialized outpatient and inpatient care within all internal medicine specialities and neurology. The clinic has approximately 100 inpatient beds spread across five care departments and 600 employees, of which 60 are specialist doctors. The clinic conducts teaching of medical candidates and doctor students and currently has approx. 20 resident doctors undergoing training in the clinic's various specialities. There is a long tradition of upper and lower abdominal research with meritorious researchers at the surgical clinic. Our clinics collaborate with the Center for Innovation, Research and Education in the region.

Main responsibilities and expectations

•The clinics are looking for a specialist doctor in gastroenterology with clinical competence and experience that corresponds to the gastroenterology activities conducted at the Medical Clinic, preferably with an interest and expertise in teaching and research.

•At the clinic, evidence-based gastroenterological care is conducted according to national and European guidelines and care programs. The work is largely team-based (doctors, nurses and dieticians) and patient-centred (focus on patient information, participation and self-care).

•The position includes full-time work within the section's various activities (outpatient and inpatient care): •outpatient care, including daycare with diagnostics (capsule enteroscopy, sigmoidoscopy) and treatments (parenteral nutrition, immunomodulating treatment, ascites drainage, etc.)

•Endoscopy operations (colonoscopy, gastroscopy, EUS, ERC) within the auspices of the Surgery Department

•Ward operations, responsibility for examination and treatment of inpatients (approx. 8-10) in the gastroenterology ward

•Consultancy, i.e. specialist support in gastroenterology for other operations within the Medical Clinic and other specialist clinics at the hospital and primary care.

What’s expected of you

•To be a specialist in gastroenterology, recognized in the EU.

•EU-citizenship or long-term residency in the EU.

•Interested in teamwork and willing to participate in the development of the clinic.

•Be able to complete the intensive language course organized by MediCarrera.
