About the Role

The primary responsibilities of a specialist physician in gastroenterology include significant clinical responsibility with extensive patient contact. As this is a smaller unit, physicians have greater responsibility for their patients and a substantial opportunity to influence the department and its goals. The unit shares an endoscopy clinic with the surgical department, allowing physicians to collaborate with various professionals with broad expertise and experience in a dynamic and rewarding role. There is strong and close cooperation with the daycare unit, colleagues from other departments, and the two other gastroenterology units within the region. Extensive experience in gastroenterology and internal medicine. Strong communication and collaboration skills.

What We Expect From You

• Specialist Physician in Gastroenterology, including Hepatology
• General and broad expertise in gastroenterology and internal medicine.
• To be able to complete MediCarrera’s Swedish language program.
• B type of driver’s license is required.

Salary and Conditions

• Salary for a new specialist with no experience: 70.000 sek / month (6152 euros) gross.
• The average salary for a specialist doctors in Sweden is between 80.000 and 110.000 sek/month (7000-9600€) gross, duties paid separately.
• The salary is set individually according to specialist’s years of experience.
• On-call duties from home.

About the Department

The Department treats patients in need of acute or planned medical care.

The department is the largest in the hospital, uniting multiple medical specialties under one roof. It includes various inpatient units specializing in stroke care, acute geriatric care (GAVA), endocrinology, neurology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, nephrology, hematology, and cardiology.

The facilities are well-designed and modern, with a strong focus on patient-centered care. You will work alongside both experienced colleagues and new team members, all highly engaged in their work. The department also includes a dialysis unit, an internal medicine outpatient clinic, and a geriatric outpatient clinic.
