ABOUT THE HOSPITAL

The Department of General Psychiatry North examines and treats adult patients with mental illnesses such as psychosis and schizophrenia, personality disorders, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders, PTSD, depression and bipolar disorder, oligophrenia and personality disorders.  The General Psychiatric Department North consists of four inpatient wards and 3 outpatient clinics. In addition, there are wards and outpatient clinics at different sites which also belong to the Department of General Psychiatry, North. There are a total of 100 beds. The focus of the treatment is on the coherent patient pathway, which is why there is close collaboration between the various professional groups and units, as well as with colleagues from other departments in Psychiatry. The department management consists of a chief physician and a chief nurse, who make up the senior management team. There are currently 9 senior physicians and 6 ward physicians employed in the department. In addition, the department is a training site for doctors, so there are also resident doctors working in the department. The focus in treatment is on the coherent patient pathway, which is why there is close collaboration between the various professional groups and units. In Psychiatry, there is a strong focus on involving the patient in treatment and care.

The Department of General Psychiatry South examines and treats adult patients with mental illnesses within psychosis and schizophrenia, personality disorders, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders, depression and bipolar disorder, and personality disorders. The Department of General Psychiatry, South consists of seven wards and five outpatient clinics. There are a total of 102 beds. The Department of General Psychiatry, South is located on two sites. In 2026, the department will move to new premises in connection with the opening of a new hospital. The focus of the treatment is on the coherent patient pathway, which is why there is close collaboration between the various professional groups and units and also with colleagues from other departments in Psychiatry. The department management consists of a chief physician and a chief nurse, who make up the senior management. There are currently 12 senior physicians and four ward physicians employed in the department. In addition, the department is the training site for a large number of trainee doctors. The focus in treatment is on the coherent patient pathway, which is why there is close collaboration between the various professional groups and units. In Psychiatry, there is a strong focus on involving the patient in treatment and care. The following competencies are required for the positions

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES  

  • To be trained in the adult psychiatry field and have a focus on assessment and treatment.
  • To have interests and competencies in the general psychiatric field.

What's expected of you

  • To have medical and specialist titles issued or recognized by the European Union.
  • To be able to complete the intensive Danish language course.
  • To diagnose and treat the most common uncomplicated somatic diseases.
  • To be professionally committed, motivated and a good collaborator.
  • To be adaptable and flexible. To be able to be part of an interdisciplinary team and have respect for other professional groups.
  • You must have the desire to enter into a dialogue with the patients and relatives and involve them in their treatment.
  • Desire to be involved in teaching medical students/trainee doctors as well as teaching other professional groups in general.
  • You must participate in on-call duties.
