MediCarrera is currently offering opportunities for General Surgeons with endoscopy expertise at Central Hospital Karlstad in Karlstad, Sweden.

About the Hospital 

The Endoscopy Unit at Central Hospital Karlstad provides advanced diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal procedures. The team includes gastroenterologists, surgeons, nurses, and support staff, working together in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.

About the Role

• Work hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (on-call duties negotiable)
• Perform surgical and therapeutic endoscopy procedures, including emergency and planned cases
• Participate in multidisciplinary conferences, patient consultations, and clinical development

Main Responsibilities

• Conduct surgical and therapeutic endoscopic procedures
• Collaborate with gastroenterologists and endoscopy staff for patient management
• Contribute to quality improvement, clinical protocols, and unit development
• Mentor and supervise junior staff as needed

Requirements

• Specialist certification in General Surgery recognized in the EU
• Experience in endoscopy and minimally invasive procedures
• Strong communication, independent work capability, and team orientation
• Commitment to complete MediCarrera’s intensive Swedish language program

Salary and Conditions (2025)

• Starting salary: approx. €7,000/month (gross), adjusted according to experience
• On-call duties compensated separately
