ABOUT THE REGION

The region is located in west-central Sweden, and offers a beautiful natural landscape with forests, lakes, and rolling countryside for outdoor enthusiasts. The region is between Stockholm and Oslo, offering a peaceful and scenic environment while still being accessible to city life. The region has a rich cultural heritage, with traditional festivals allowing residents to learn about and experience traditional Swedish culture.

The region manages three hospitals and provides a variety of specialist clinics. The organization has a robust healthcare workforce comprising approximately 700 doctors, 2,200 nurses, and 1,200 nursing assistants. The organization is seeking medical specialists across various specialities and is a major employer in Värmland, with a workforce of over 7,400 employees. It operates 20 health centres that offer primary care and maternal and child health services.

ABOUT THE HOSPITAL

The hospital is open around-the-clock and offers both emergency care and specialised treatments. The emergency and outpatient clinic for all specialities is housed in fresh premises. The hospital is flow-oriented and based on the patient's needs. They work based on the vision "to create a hospital where we can imagine ourselves being patients".

Activities are carried out in medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, urology, gynaecology, anaesthesia, surgery and intensive care, radiology, laboratory, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and palliative care. The operations include both orthopaedics and surgery, including endoscopic operations. There is also a dialysis unit.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES  

As a specialist, you will participate in all parts of the work at the clinic such as on-call, departmental work and outpatient care. You will manage acutely ill patients with a wide range of internal medicine conditions. At the outpatient ward, there is the possibility to focus more on certain patient groups. You should enjoy training and supervising junior doctors and participating in improvement work.


What's expected of you

  • To be a specialist in Internal Medicine. 
  • To be able to complete the intensive Swedish language course, which is part of the MediCarrera program.

Basic Requirements

*To be a specialist doctor/nurse/dentist with at least 2-3 years of experience and graduated from an EU university.

* To be an EU citizen or have an EU Long-term residence permit.

In case you are not an EU citizen:

* Your diploma has to be homologated in one of the EU countries.
