Job Description

Medicarrera presents an exciting position for a gastroenterologist at a public hospital in Central Sweden. About the Hospital
The medical clinic provides specialized outpatient and inpatient care . It has approximately 100 inpatient beds spread across five care departments and employs a team of 600, including 60 specialist doctors. Additionally, the clinic plays an active role in the training of medical students and resident doctors, with around 20 residents currently training in various specialties.

The clinic has a long-standing tradition of research in both upper and lower abdominal areas, led by renowned researchers, and collaborates closely with a center for innovation, research, and education affiliated with a leading Swedish university. This partnership supports ongoing professional development and advanced research in gastroenterology, enhancing clinical outcomes and offering opportunities for academic growth.

Main Responsibilities
The clinic is looking for a specialist in gastroenterology with a strong clinical background suited to the diverse activities of the Medical Clinic. Ideal candidates will also have an interest in teaching and research. As part of the Gastroenterology Section, you will work in a multidisciplinary team that prioritizes patient information, participation, and self-care.

Your primary duties will include:

  • Outpatient Care: Including daycare diagnostics (e.g., capsule endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy) and treatments such as parenteral nutrition and immunomodulating therapy.
  • Endoscopy Procedures: Performing procedures such as colonoscopy, gastroscopy, EUS, and ERC in collaboration with the Surgery Department.
  • Inpatient Ward Operations: Overseeing the examination and treatment of approximately 8-10 inpatients in the gastroenterology ward.
  • Consultation: Providing specialized gastroenterology support to other departments and clinics within the hospital.


Salary and Conditions

  • Starting salary: €6,152 gross monthly for newly qualified specialists, with adjustments based on years of experience.
  • On-call duties are compensated separately.

Requirements

  • Hold medical and specialist certifications issued or recognized by the European Union.
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork skills and a commitment to contributing to the clinic's growth and development.
  • Complete an intensive Swedish language course as part of the Medicarrera program.
