Job Description

MediCarrera offers two positions for mammographers at a public hospital located in the south of Sweden.

Main Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Independently examine clinical patients using advanced techniques such as:

           Tomosynthesis
           Ultrasound
           Various biopsy methods, including stereotactic and tomosynthesis-guided vacuum biopsies

  • Perform preoperative tumor localization.
  • Lead or participate in multidisciplinary conferences.
  • Supervise resident doctors.
  • Engage in significant patient interaction, providing compassionate and effective care.
    Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals involved in breast care, including:

         Breast radiologists 
         Radiology nurses/registered nurses
         Administrative secretary

  • Demonstrate strong collaboration skills while working closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of breast MRI services, with MRI expertise being highly valued.

What’s Expected of You:

  • Hold medical and specialist titles issued or recognized by the European Union.
  • Complete an introductory period with a mentor to guide you and assess your skills. Additional training will be provided to address any competency gaps.
  • Ability to complete the intensive Swedish language course, which is part of the MediCarrera program.
  • Professional attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and a focus on quality care.


Salary and Conditions:

  • Salary for a new specialist with no experience: 70,000 SEK/month (approx. 6,152 € gross).
  • The average salary for a specialist doctor in Sweden ranges between 80,000 and 110,000 SEK/month (approx. 7,000–9,600 € gross), with duties paid separately. Salaries are set individually according to the specialist's years of experience.
