Main responsibilities and expectations

Breast Radiologist for the department in Karlskrona. As a physician in mammography, you will be responsible for independently examining clinical patients using techniques such as tomosynthesis, ultrasound, and biopsies of various types, including stereotactic and tomosynthesis-guided vacuum biopsies. You will also perform preoperative localization of tumors, lead or participate in multidisciplinary conferences, and supervise resident doctors. We are also pleased to now offer breast MRI in Region Blekinge and therefore value MRI expertise in applicants.

You will have significant contact with patients and collaborate with other staff involved in the breast care process. Your closest colleagues will include breast radiologists, radiology nurses/registered nurses, and an administrative secretary. Since you will be working closely with your colleagues, it is important to us that you possess strong collaboration skills.

What’s expected of you

To have medical and specialist titles issued or recognized by the European Union.

You will receive an introduction during your initial period and a mentor to support you. Your skills will be assessed, and training will be provided in areas where there are competency gaps.

Regular wellness activities are part of the hospital’s routine, and there is rarely a lack of coffee breaks.

To be able to complete the intensive Swedish language course, which is part of the MediCarrera program.
