ABOUT THE REGION

Viborg, a city in central Denmark, is known for its rich history, cultural heritage, and beautiful landscapes. Located in the region of Central Jutland, it serves as the capital of both Viborg municipality and the larger Region Midtjylland (Central Denmark Region).

ABOUT THE HOSPITAL

The Neurology department counts with 26 doctors in total. This includes 16 doctors who are specialists in their field and 10 doctors who are still training. One of these specialists helps manage the department and also works in two different teams that focus on specific tasks. Four of these specialists mainly work with VCR, while the rest mostly deal with general neurology issues. The department uses a schedule where younger doctors, not yet specialists, cover different times of the day in 8 shifts. They work two shifts at a time, and after 11:00 PM, they continue their work from home. There's also a more experienced doctor ready to help out in case of emergencies.Acute patients are managed in close collaboration with the Emergency Department

Main responsibilities and expectations 

As a ward physician, you will be part of a well-functioning specialist group. You will be involved in the department's various tasks with ward rounds, which are organized in medical teams that go on rounds one week at a time. Furthermore, acute and elective clinic operations in Classical Neurology as well as on-call work - a maximum of two shifts per 4-week roll. You will have the opportunity to be affiliated with one or more clinics that you have a special professional interest in, while all specialists will be affiliated with our outpatient emergency clinic. You will be involved in educational tasks, e.g. as a supervisor for trainee doctors with the opportunity to attend a supervisor course. In addition, depending on your areas of interest, you may be involved in research projects, quality work or administrative tasks.

REQUIREMENTS 

To have medical and specialist titles issued or recognized by the European Union.

You must be a specialist in neurology, preferably with a main interest in dementia, headache, epilepsy, neuromuscular or spasticity treatment.

To show interest in teamwork and be willing to contribute to the clinic's development.

To be able to complete the intensive Danish language course.

Your qualifications and competencies will be assessed based on your information about your own competencies within each of the 7 competency areas. In your application, you should relate to these and, as far as possible, document qualifications within the areas.

Basic Requirements

*To be a specialist doctor/nurse/dentist with at least 2-3 years of experience and graduated from an EU university.

* To be an EU citizen or have an EU Long-term residence permit.

In case you are not an EU citizen:

* Your diploma has to be homologated in one of the EU countries.

* You need to have at least 2-3 years of experience in one of the EU countries after the title homologation.

* Long term residency from an EU country.
