OPERATING ROOM ASSISTANT
Amsterdam UMC’s Surgery Department is seeking passionate nurses for the role of Operating Room Assistant. This unique role allows nurses to study and work simultaneously, contributing to our Surgery Department’s high standards in both care and research. As a healthcare professional in the Netherlands, communication in Dutch is crucial. Therefore, the employer will provide a Dutch language course for healthcare professionals. This partnership aims to equip healthcare professionals with the necessary language skills to reach an intermediate level of proficiency in Dutch. This proficiency will enable the healthcare professional to engage in daily activities and interact with clients once they arrive in the Netherlands. During this period of approximately 4 to 5 months, the healthcare professional will receive language training and learn more about Dutch culture..
Your profile:

Bachelor of Nursing degree obtained in an EU/EEA country.
·
EU nationality.
·
Willing to follow a paid for educational program to become an OR nurse in the Netherlands.
·
Certified nurse with a minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room and a commitment to continuous professional growth.

Desire to contribute to an excellent team, recognizing that good care is a collaborative effort.
·
Decisive and result-oriented with an understanding of the critical nature of every minute in the operating room.
·
Strong listening skills and empathy, recognizing the challenges families face in the OR.
·
Eagerness to learn, with a recognition that each working day is an opportunity for personal and professional development.
·
Availability for all shifts, contributing to our 24/7 care commitment.
·
English proficiency at A2/B1 level.
Employment conditions
·
The employee will receive a fixed-term employment contract for the duration of the training program (per section 2.4.4 of the UMC CAO) in order to complete the core EPAs for Operating Room Assistant. During this period, the employee will be placed in salary scale 5 (minimum €2574 gross per month / 36 hours).

After completing the core EPAs (approximately 3 years), the employee will be placed in scale 8M (minimum €3401 gross per month / 36 hours) plus a labor market allowance and will receive a new contract to complete the specific EPAs. This stage lasts approximately 6-9 months, at which point the trainee will be 100% deployable.
