Senior Consultant in Paediatric Oncology/Haematology for Linköping!
Region Östergötland is seeking a specialist doctor in Paediatric
Haematology and Oncology to join the Children’s Cancer Centre at
Crown Princess Victoria Children’s Hospital, Linköping University
Hospital.
The Children’s Cancer Centre provides inpatient care, outpatient
services and day care for children and adolescents with oncological
and haematological diseases. The inpatient ward also cares for
children with diabetes requiring hospital admission and children with
neurosurgical conditions.
The department works in a multidisciplinary environment with a
strong focus on commitment, responsibility, respect and family-
centred care.
The role includes managing children with the full spectrum of
paediatric haematological and oncological disorders. It also involves
teaching, giving lectures, supervising junior doctors and medical
students, and participating in the regional paediatric oncology on-
call service.
The department actively participates in national and international
paediatric oncology clinical studies. In-house research is conducted
in collaboration with the Centre for Medical Image Science and
Visualization, CMIV, and Linköping University. There are excellent
opportunities to contribute to ongoing research, as well as to initiate
and lead your own research projects.
Requirements
To have a medical degree and a specialist title in Paediatrics, with
specialist competence in Paediatric Haematology and Oncology,
issued or recognised by the European Union.
To have experience working in a general paediatric department.
To have at least five years of post-specialist experience at a
paediatric oncology centre.
To be able to independently manage children with the full spectrum
of paediatric haematological and oncological disorders.
To have the ability to deliver lectures, provide teaching and supervise
junior doctors and medical students.
To have good collaboration skills and enjoy working in
multidisciplinary teams.
To be meticulous, responsible and positive, with a strong patient-
and family-centred approach to care.
Research experience and a strong interest in clinical or translational
research are considered meritorious.
To be able to complete the intensive Swedish language course,
which is part of the MediCarrera programme.
