You will be part of a well-structured medical team including pediatric ophthalmologists, resident doctors, nurses, and support staff. The hospital offers a collaborative environment with opportunities for research, professional growth, and continuous learning.

About the Role

  • Work hours: Monday–Friday, 8–17 (flexible schedule)
  • Combination of outpatient, inpatient, and surgical care
  • Daily tasks include consultations, examinations, treatments, and urgent pediatric ophthalmology assessments
  • Multidisciplinary teamwork with nurses, surgeons, and administrative staff
  • Participation in on-call duties after introduction
  • Supportive environment with modern facilities and advanced ophthalmology equipment

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct pediatric ophthalmology assessments, treatments, and follow-ups
  • Work clinically in both outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Perform strabismus surgeries (if experienced)
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care
  • Contribute to clinical development, patient safety initiatives, and research
  • Mentor and collaborate with resident doctors

 

Requirements

  • Specialist certification in Pediatric Ophthalmology recognized in the EU
  • Experience in pediatric ophthalmology, preferably including strabismus surgery
  • Knowledge in pediatric electro-ophthalmology is a plus
  • Interest in research or quality management (LEAN) is desirable
  • Strong communication skills, structured, and team-oriented
  • Commitment to complete MediCarrera’s intensive Swedish language program

 

Salary and Conditions (2025)

  • Specialist in Pediatric Ophthalmology (permanent): SEK 80,000–110,000/month (approx. €7,000–9,600 gross), adjusted according to experience
  • Additional on-call shifts compensated separately
