Job Description

Royal Caribbean Group is seeking a skilled Physiotherapist to join our medical team aboard our fleet of world-class cruise ships. You will provide high-quality musculoskeletal assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and wellness services to guests and crew. This is a dynamic, patient-centered role in a multicultural, maritime environment.

What you’ll do

  • Conduct initial assessments and ongoing physiotherapy evaluations for guests and crew with musculoskeletal conditions, pre/post-operative rehab, and performance optimization.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, mobility/flexibility training, gait training, and progression criteria.
  • Provide rehabilitation and injury prevention programs, including prehabilitation and post-injury therapy to reduce risk and improve function.
  • Perform ergonomic assessments for crew workspaces, ship gyms, and living areas, and provide practical recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the ship’s medical team, fitness staff, and hotel operations to integrate physiotherapy into daily operations and wellness programs.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in the shipboard medical information system; ensure patient privacy and confidentiality; manage equipment and inventory.
  • Ensure infection control, safe practice, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives and compliance with maritime health regulations.
  • Educate guests and crew on posture, exercise, and injury prevention; deliver wellness talks as needed.

What we’re looking for

  • Degree in Physiotherapy and a current license to practice in your country or jurisdiction.
  • Registration with a recognized physiotherapy regulatory body.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification; ACLS or PALS are a plus.
  • Experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, orthopedics, sports injuries, or rehabilitation; experience in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Comfort working in a remote, multicultural, and resource-limited environment with flexible scheduling.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; compassionate, patient-centered approach; ability to work with diverse guests and crew.
  • Willingness to relocate to shipboard duties for extended periods; travel as itineraries require.
  • Language: English required; additional languages are advantageous.
  • Physical ability to demonstrate and guide exercise programs and assist patients as needed; health clearance for sea duties.
