The university hospital is one of the country's leading university hospitals that provides everything from county healthcare to national highly specialised care. The university hospital collaborates with other healthcare institutions, universities, and research organizations both within Sweden and internationally. This collaboration facilitates the sharing of knowledge, interdisciplinary research, and the implementation of new healthcare practices.

The Department for Personality Disorders is a new highly specialized unit at the university hospital, the only one that investigates and treats personality disorders in the area. They offer an integrated treatment range that includes several evidence-based treatment methods: Unified Protocol, Dialectical behaviour therapy, Mentalization-based therapy, Emotion Regulation Group Training, and Intensive short-term dynamic therapy. The treatments are time-limited and structured based on a step-by-step care model.

The department's mission also includes the investigation of personality syndrome and its co-morbidity. They are working to introduce the modern personality syndrome diagnostics according to ICD-11 and DSM-5-AMPD. The working method is characterized by intensity, high competence and professionalism. A strong focus is on development and innovation. They conduct several research projects and invest in new and promising treatment methods.

Main responsibilities and expectations 

  • The University Hospital's Department for Personality Disorders is in search of two specialist doctors in adult or child and adolescent psychiatry or resident doctors in the final stages of their training to become part of their team.

What’s expected of you 

  • To have medical and Psychiatry/Child and Adolescent Psychiatry specialist titles issued or recognized by the European Union or residents in the last years. It is advantageous to have prior knowledge and expertise in researching and treating personality syndrome and its comorbidities.
  • Being interested in organizational issues and method development is viewed favourably.
  • Psychological treatments are essential for providing care to individuals with personality syndromes. While it would benefit you to demonstrate competence and interest in psychotherapy when applying for the position, it is not a mandatory requirement.
  • To show interest in teamwork and be willing to contribute to the clinic's development.
  • To be able to complete the intensive Swedish language course, which is part of the MediCarrera program.

Basic Requirements

*To be a specialist doctor/nurse/dentist with at least 2-3 years of experience and graduated from an EU university.

* To be an EU citizen or have an EU Long-term residence permit.

In case you are not an EU citizen:

* Your diploma has to be homologated in one of the EU countries.

* You need to have at least 2-3 years of experience in one of the EU countries after the title homologation.

* Long term residency from an EU country.
