About the Hospital

Sandviken Hospital provides specialized rehabilitation medicine services including neurorehabilitation, spinal cord injury rehabilitation, acquired brain injury rehabilitation, and long-term pain management with a focus on restoring daily functioning and return to work. The hospital employs approximately 70 staff members, including specialists, resident doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and support staff. The clinic emphasizes multidisciplinary teamwork, clinical development, and patient-centered care.

About the Role

  • Work hours: Monday–Friday, daytime (no weekends, no on-call duties)
  • Combination of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation care
  • Daily tasks include patient assessments, planning and overseeing rehabilitation interventions, follow-ups, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Significant opportunities to influence clinic development and processes


Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct rehabilitation assessments and interventions for patients with neurological injuries, spinal cord injuries, long-term pain, and acquired brain injuries
  • Supervise and mentor junior doctors and residents in training
  • Collaborate with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, psychologists, and other staff to ensure high-quality care
  • Contribute to the development of clinical programs and quality improvement initiatives


Requirements

  • Specialist certification in Rehabilitation Medicine recognized in the EU
  • Preferably 2–3 years of experience as an independently working specialist
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to clinic development
  • Commitment to complete MediCarrera’s intensive Swedish language program


Salary and Conditions (2025)

  • Specialist in Rehabilitation Medicine (permanent): minimum SEK 75,600/month (approx. €7,000 gross), adjusted according to experience
