Medicarrera offers an exciting opportunity for an urologist  in a dynamic hospital setting located in the central region of Sweden. This role provides an independent, impactful position within a team-oriented hospital committed to the highest standards of urological care. The hospital, recognized for its strong patient-centered approach, is currently undergoing significant renovations, with new, modern facilities scheduled to open in approximately five years.

Main Responsibilities and Expectations
As a Specialist Urologist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Examining, diagnosing, and treating a full range of urological conditions.
  • Engaging in both clinic and ward duties and performing a variety of surgeries.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to colleagues and residents (ST doctors).
  • This position allows for a high level of autonomy, with opportunities to shape and advance practice areas within the urology department, particularly in transurethral surgery and stone treatment services. The role is well-suited for a collaborative individual eager to contribute to team cohesion and knowledge-sharing. Additionally, efforts to enhance patient flow are prioritized, particularly in surgical treatments.

Candidate Profile
To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Hold medical and specialist titles recognized by the European Union.
  • Be experienced in managing urological conditions across clinical, surgical, and ward settings, with independence in transurethral surgeries.
  • Exhibit strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Be committed to completing an intensive Swedish language course as part of the Medicarrera program, achieving B2 proficiency to begin employment and aiming for C1 level in due course.


Salary and Conditions

  • Monthly Salary: Starting at 70,000 SEK (6,152 EUR) gross for new specialists, with average salaries for experienced specialists ranging from 80,000 to 110,000 SEK (7,000–9,600 EUR) gross.
  • Language Requirements: B2 proficiency in Swedish is required to start, with continued language support to reach C1.
  • No on-call duties are expected.

About the Clinic
This hospital is supported by a collaborative team, including 2 urology specialists and 1 resident, within a larger surgical department comprising approximately 25 physicians and 125 staff members. The team includes 21 nurses and 28 assistant nurses. The clinic offers robust support for professional growth through both internal and external education, ensuring a strong sense of teamwork and camaraderie that is especially welcoming to new staff.
