ABOUT THE REGION

The region is in central Sweden with a long tradition of innovation and world-leading industries. The area also has good regional and international accessibility and offers a good quality of life. The County is situated in central Sweden by the Baltic coast. It offers good access to Stockholm (90 minutes by train) and other parts of the country. 

ABOUT THE HOSPITAL

The position is at the surgical clinic at the hospital. The catchment area for the hospital is 285.000 inhabitants.  At the clinic, there are 4 specialists, 2 resident doctors in urology. The urology department is a part of the surgical clinic, and in total the clinic has 40 doctors and 350 employees within different professions.  

Main responsibilities and expectations

  • Being able to independently handle a urology clinic with prostate biopsies and cystoscopies.
  • Able to operate on day surgery, urology patients.
  • Be able to operate on urological patients in need of major surgery such as kidney cancer, urothelial cancer, prostate cancer and stone surgery.
  • Participate in building a urology section with good colleagues and the opportunity to learn to operate with Robot-assisted surgery.

•Be able to complete the intensive Swedish language course, which is part of the MediCarrera program.

•Being humble, working well in a team, and having good communicative skills.

Basic Requirements

*To be a specialist doctor/nurse/dentist with at least 2-3 years of experience and graduated from an EU university.

* To be an EU citizen or have an EU Long-term residence permit.

In case you are not an EU citizen:

* Your diploma has to be homologated in one of the EU countries.

* You need to have at least 2-3 years of experience in one of the EU countries after the title homologation.

* Long term residency from an EU country.
