OTTO Health Care wants to contribute towards keeping Dutch healthcare at a world-class level. Where patients receive the care they deserve. Where healthcare professionals can practice their profession in a pleasant and healthy way.
Our vision
We believe in win-win opportunities. That's why we accompany well-trained international healthcare professionals temporarily to the Netherlands to work in our healthcare system. This is good for Dutch healthcare, because the workload for our doctors, nurses and caregivers is enormous every day. But it is also good for the international professionals and their families. It offers them the chance to gain foreign experience and earn extra money for back home.
As a partner of hospitals, healthcare institutions and healthcare professionals, OTTO Health Care takes care of the entire process: from recruiting and training abroad, to facilitating good housing and guidance for integration in the Netherlands.
OTTO Health Care currently facilitates healthcare professionals from both Asia and Southern Europe.
Our approach
OTTO Health Care takes care of the whole process of bringing these well-trained healthcare professionals to the Netherlands. Our approach focuses on facilitating ethical recruitment, offering a Dutch language and culture program, taking care of the entire licensing procedure and taking care of the complete onboarding in the Netherlands.
Language and Culture
Knowledge of language and culture is vital to be able to perform well in Dutch healthcare. Good communication with patients, colleagues, doctors and families is not only pleasant, but can make the difference in life and death situations. Therefore, we facilitate a very intensive language and culture program, in which caregivers learn the Dutch language up to B1 or B2 level. In addition, they are immersed in Dutch culture and learn hands-on how Dutch healthcare culture works.
Legalization
To become licensed and qualified to work in healthcare in the Netherlands, a healthcare provider must go through several legalization procedures. You obtain a work and residence permit, you go through the BIG registration to become a registered nurse in the Netherlands, and there are also procedures you must go through from the country of origin. We take care of all these procedures for the healthcare facility and ensure proper and timely processing of documentation.
Onboarding
You can only function fully in your job if you also feel good outside of work. The step from abroad to the Netherlands must therefore be well supported. We take care of that. We ensure a soft landing by integrating you step-by-step in the Netherlands. This ranges from guidance for practical matters such as collecting BSN numbers, taking out health insurance and the first time on public transport; to the social aspect of integration, for example through a buddy program.
