Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

  • Specialist title in clinical chemistry / other laboratory diagnostics specialty / internal medicine
  • Education according to EU standard
  • 4-5 years of experience
  • Ability to work in team. Knowledge and experience with daily operational work at the laboratory, method development, quality monitoring, improvement work, procurement, supervision, training of employees and students are needed for you to thrive with us.
  • Positive attitude, commitment and flexibility.
  • The position involves work and possibly several placements at the county's laboratories.
  • Desirable: previous experience in clinical chemistry as well as knowledge in chromatography and autoimmunity.

ABOUT THE WORK

Laboratory medicine has activities throughout the county. We have approximately 300 employees and the unit consists of clinical chemistry and transfusion medicine in Jönköping, Höglandet and Värnamo, microbiology, clinical pathology and cytology. We also have activity in 19 laboratories of health centres in the county. Our goal is to deliver the best possible diagnostics based on best practice and national and international guidelines.

Clinical chemistry is part of Laboratory Medicine and works with diagnostics of various types of diseases and conditions. Yearly we perform approximately four million analyses.

Within laboratory medicine, there is also a unit for research and development that develops new techniques and methods to give patients better health and quality of life.

We strive to work in an integrated manner across the various medical disciplines within Laboratory Medicine. In total, we have approximately 300 employees at various locations in the region. Clinical chemistry's activities are accredited by Swedac.

SALARY

  • Six-month introductory period: temporary employment as a doctor assistant with a salary of SEK 55,000 gross income/month (ca. EUR 4,800), ca. SEK 40,000 net income (ca. EUR 3,500). During this time: also introduction at the workplace and development of language competences (two days per week for 12 weeks)
  • After the introductory period and obtaining the Swedish license to practice and the title of specialist, transfer to permanent employment with a new salary at the specialist level, established individually >SEK 63,000 gross income/month (ca. EUR 5,500), ca. SEK 44,000 net income (ca. EUR 3,900).

Additional information

The salaries are established individually, according to regional policies and doctor’s experience and education. The contract is a full-time contract with full contributions, insurance paid by the employer. Employment with the public sector gives additional retirement plans with benefits for the family.
