Bologna Health Jobs Ireland is seeking 2 consultants in old age psychiatry.
These vacances are located in the south east of IRELAND
The successful candidate will be part of the consultant team and will be a key member of the department.
Responsabilities:
-Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health conditions in older adults, including dementia, depression, anxiety, psychosis, and delirium.
-Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams (including nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, and social workers) in community and hospital settings.
-Develop and oversee individualized care plans for patients with complex psychiatric and cognitive disorders.
-Liaise with geriatric medicine, primary care (GPs), neurology, and social services to ensure integrated care for older patients.
-Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and teaching for NCHDs (registrars and SHOs) and other mental health staff.
-Contribute to service development, quality improvement, audit, and implementation of HSE mental health policies (e.g., Specialist Mental Health Services for Older People).
-Participate in the on-call consultant rota depending on the service structure. Off site
What we offer:
Base salary of €233,000 to €280,500 gross per year (new salary effective August 25th) (there are six salary levels, and you will be at one level or another depending on experience) + on-call shifts, potentially reaching up to €320,000 gross per year, approximately €10,000 to €12,000 per month. Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience (including specialty)
- Very high level of English (C1). No certificate required.
- Registration with the IMC in the register of specialists in old age psychiatry . We will assist all candidates with this if they are not already registered. We are one of the few agencies that thoroughly review all your documents for this purpose. All unregistered candidates must be qualified as specialist psychiatrists in old age in the European Union (no CVs will be considered without this requirement) or, alternatively, must hold a specialist qualification recognized in an EU Member State and have practiced for three years from the date of recognition if they are from outside the EU.
