Join a leading University Hospital in Southwestern Sweden!
Are you a pediatric ophthalmologist from the EU looking to grow your career in a modern, academic, and supportive environment?
A leading university hospital in southwestern Sweden is now recruiting specialists in pediatric ophthalmology to strengthen its highly specialized eye care department. This is an exciting opportunity to work with advanced diagnostics and nationally designated care for pediatric glaucoma and cataract, while contributing to education, clinical development, and research within one of Sweden’s foremost ophthalmology units.
About the role:
You will join a large ophthalmology department with more than 250 professionals, covering outpatient care, emergency eye services, inpatient wards, and surgical units. The pediatric ophthalmology section provides comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic care for children and collaborates closely with electrophysiology and hereditary disease units.
You will work in multidisciplinary teams that include physicians, orthoptists, nurses, optometrists, and technicians, all focused on delivering patient-centered, high-quality eye care. As part of a university hospital, you will also have the opportunity to participate in teaching, clinical research, and innovation projects.
Requirements:
A willingness and motivation to learn Swedish is important for your integration and clinical work.
The relocation process begins once you reach language level B2. During this stage, you will work 50% clinically and study 50% Swedish until you achieve C1 level, which is required to apply for a Swedish specialist license (specialistbevis) to practice as a specialist doctor.
Language training is provided free of charge once you have accepted an employment offer.
You will receive full support throughout the licensing and relocation process, including assistance with documentation, Swedish authorization, and settling in Sweden.
