Namsos Hospital

Three hours north of Trondheim, at the innermost part of Namsfjorden, lies Namsos Hospital, part of Helse Nord-Trøndelag HF (Health Trust). Helse Nord-Trøndelag serves approximately 137,000 inhabitants and provides high-quality specialist services within both physical (somatic) and mental health. The units include Levanger Hospital, Namsos Hospital, DPS Stjørdal and DPS Klæbu.

The Clinic for Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders provides psychiatric services to about 44,000 inhabitants across 14 municipalities, in close collaboration with primary care services.

About the position

As a senior consultant in psychiatry, you will be responsible for assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients with complex mental health conditions. You will hold medical responsibility, supervise and teach residents and collaborators and take part in a 7-shift rotation schedule.

Qualifications

  • Medical specialist in psychiatry
  • Authorization to practice within the EU/EEA
  • Proficiency in English and motivation to learn Norwegian, supported by our free Norwegian language school
  • Strong motivation and genuine interest in patient care
  • A driver’s licence is an advantage
  • Clean criminal record in accordance with the Health Personnel Act
