About our program

Your professional career abroad starts here! Enjoy a better work-life balance and start working in The Netherlands. OTTO Health Care offers you a Dutch language and culture program for free. This program takes 4 months and then you are ready to move to The Netherlands. 

Flight and transportation to your new home is completely taken care of by us. Together with your new employer we set up an onboarding program to make sure you have a soft landing. We help you with opening a bank account, finding a doctor and getting around in your new neighborhood. Most importantly, we facilitate good housing starting from the first day you arrive in The Netherlands. 

The client

Our client is an international organization with the aim to support the healthy growth and development of all children. The goal is to create a healthy and safe environment for young people to learn and develop themselves. Ideally within their own family/ system or through out-of-home placement.

The client is based in the Utrecht region (in the middle of The Netherlands, 45 min drive from Amsterdam).

Position overview

The Youth Protector is characterized by performing work from a pedagogical framework in a system-oriented context. The Youth Protector regularly comes into complex crisis or family situations involving placement in care or multi-sided partiality. The authorization has a major impact on the family/system and long-term consequences, such as out-of-home placement and supervision order. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Implementing a youth protection measure.
  • Drawing up and realizing a multidisciplinary plan of development, together with the family/system.
  • Actively collects needed information from the family/system and other internal and external stakeholders and conducts interviews with them.
  • Prepares reports and petitions for the (juvenile) court.
  • Discusses and records progress and results with the family/system and other stakeholders. 
  • Mediates in crisis situations (within the family/system and/or with parties involved), there is multi-sided partiality (e.g. divorces) or the risk of out-of-home placement.
  • Keeps his/her own expertise up to date by following developments in the field of expertise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Experience in a similar position.
  • English level minimum B2.
  • Driving license.

What does the client offer?

  • Salary between €3.310 and €4.973 gross based on 36 hours per week.
  • Holiday allowance of 8% and end of year allowance of 8.3%.

What are next steps?

The recruitment process starts with an interview conducted by the recruiter. Afterwards you meet one of our ambassadors who is now working and living in The Netherlands. The ambassador can inform you about his/ her experience following our program and starting a new life in The Netherlands. Next you will meet a teacher from the language academy explaining the program. Final step is a meeting with your new employer.
